Healing together: new therapy options available

Healing together: new therapy options available

Our commitment to supporting our community’s mental health and wellbeing is stronger than ever as we navigate the impacts of Cyclone Gabrielle. We’ve recently partnered with other mental health professionals in order to expand the support we can provide, and we’re pleased to introduce two additional therapy options aimed at providing holistic support our communities. We are currently offering these opportunities free of charge.

Online Therapy Events in collaboration with Trauma Aid Aotearoa

Experience the transformative power of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) through our free online therapy events. Led by experienced clinical psychologists, these sessions offer a safe space for individuals dealing with the effects of trauma, whether related to Cyclone Gabrielle or any other challenges or stresses life may have presented.

Dates: Wednesday 8 May & Wednesday 26 June

Time:  5:30-7:30pm

Register: Head to http://www.traumaaid.org.nz/events to reserve your spot.

Whether you’re facing direct trauma from the cyclone or struggling with other mental health concerns, everyone is welcome to participate. EMDR therapy can be incredibly effective at healing trauma, by reprocessing traumatic memories.

TRE Therapy with Anaru Probert

We are pleased to offer a new approach to holistic healing called Trauma/Tension Release Exercises (TRE).  In our fast-paced world, where stress and tension seem unavoidable, TRE focuses on the connection between our physical and mental wellbeing, offering a gentle yet powerful way to release stored tension and trauma from the body.

What is TRE?

TRE recognises that physical sensations are deeply intertwined with our emotional and mental states. By activating our body’s natural tremor mechanism, TRE facilitates the release of tension, promotes relaxation, and restores balance to the nervous system.  If you’re interested trying TRE therapy, we are offering free 1:1 sessions to Napier Family Centre clients. Contact us if you would like to find out more.
